Located in Nerima city, Tokyo, Shakujii Park is a beloved destination known for its lush natural environment and spacious grounds. One of the most popular activities here is boating — whether you're with friends or a romantic partner, enjoying the serene waters on a rowboat, cycle boat, or swan boat is a relaxing and scenic experience. The park spans approximately 22 hectares and features two main ponds: Sanpo-ji Pond and Shakujii Pond. Access
Shakujii Park is easily accessible from central Tokyo. The nearest station is Shakujii-Kōen Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, just a 5-minute walk from the park entrance. From Ikebukuro Station, it's about a 20-minute ride. The area around the station is lined with cafes and restaurants, making it a convenient stop before or after your park visit.

・Sanpo-ji Pond

The park is roughly divided into two sections: the western side featuring Sanpo-ji Pond and green plazas, and the eastern side with Shakujii Pond and its surrounding open areas. Sanpo-ji Pond is ideal for nature lovers who want to observe birds, fish, and tranquil waters. You'll also find a shrine and the remains of the old Shakujii Castle nearby, giving the area a mystical and historical feel. Visitors can even sense a touch of yūgen — the subtle profundity often found in traditional Japanese aesthetics.
